We need help to scale up our production without scaling down our exceptional customer experience!
Bertie & Jack design and manufacture a range of personalised, customisable artwork. Each artwork is currently made in our production facility to individual order and each piece is unique.
Whilst this is currently manageable, with our plans to expand, we're reviewing our business model.
The product is made using a large variety of components, which have a varying number of customer options and take varying amounts of time to put together. Customers can customise via the website or in person at our market stall in Bath, UK.
All of the component parts are either hand made or hand finished and include:
_Cut-out shape - this is the shaped mounted board
_Background swatch - this is the surface pattern design used behind the cut-out window
_Frame colour or unframed product option
_Personal message - currently handwritten on the mount
Our products are bought on the strength of the fact that each is unique and hand made. With larger volume orders imminent, we need help to scale up our production and optimize our margin.
We are open to ideas as to ways we can create the product with greater efficiency in terms of both lead times and product margin but cannot be at the detriment of the quality of our product.
Our challenge is to give us some options on how to do this.
_The message on each mount can be overprinted but must still be personalised
_We want to keep production in the UK using ethically sourced materials
_We want to use as few suppliers in the process as possible
_We want to keep as much of the artistry in the product as possible
_Order fulfilment must be within 5 days of order
Production and order fulfilment strategy presented in a report and executive summary presentation. Suggestions on recommended suppliers also encouraged!
The winning solver will also receive a hand made Bertie & Jack cut out print of their choice
